Challenges are what make us. Not long after meeting a cadre of “north shore” hikers from Vancouver, I convinced one of them he should put his Yosemite skills to work, and climb Mt. Garibaldi. That led to many others. Along the way, I fell in love with Rainier - a North American jewel, 14,410' of volcanic rock, capped in ice and wind swept snow. It's the beginning point for thousands of climbers. Many ultimately think about North-Side climbs, but the North Side is a different world, only a few get there. For me, Liberty Ridge, became my challenge. It’s been 7-years in the making. This is the climb, a great one, with a great partner.
